Privacy Policy
- Effective
- July 22, 2026
- Applies to
- frictionwerks.com and FrictionWerks services
This policy explains the information FrictionWerks handles through its website, checkout, and client relationships.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information FrictionWerks collects through frictionwerks.com, email and other direct communications, payment and billing activity, and the operation of our client services. It does not replace privacy terms in a signed client agreement or govern a third party’s independent practices.
When FrictionWerks handles personal information contained in client source material solely on a client’s instructions, the client remains responsible for the collection and permitted use of that information.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact and organization information, such as your name, work email, organization, role, and the information you include in an inquiry.
- Engagement information, including project requests, communications, meeting notes, decisions, source material, and workflow requirements supplied during the work.
- Billing and transaction information, including billing contact details, billing address, tax identifiers you choose to provide, purchased services, payment status, subscription status, and transaction identifiers. Stripe collects and processes full payment-card details directly; FrictionWerks does not receive or store your full card number.
- Technical information, such as IP address, browser or device characteristics, requested pages, timestamps, security events, and diagnostic logs generated when you use the website or checkout.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to inquiries and communicate about requested work;
- scope, deliver, support, and improve client engagements;
- create and administer checkout, billing, receipts, and payments;
- maintain records and meet accounting or legal obligations;
- secure, troubleshoot, and operate the website and services;
- prevent fraud, misuse, and other harmful activity; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and the current website does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Payments and Stripe
Embedded Checkout is provided by Stripe. Information entered into Stripe’s payment fields is transmitted to Stripe for payment processing, fraud prevention, billing, receipts, and related services. FrictionWerks receives information needed to administer the transaction and engagement. Stripe’s handling of information is also subject to the Stripe Privacy Policy.
5. Service providers and disclosures
We may disclose information:
- to Stripe for checkout, payment processing, billing, receipts, and fraud prevention;
- to hosting, infrastructure, communications, security, and workflow providers that process information for FrictionWerks;
- to professional advisers when reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, insurance, or security matters;
- when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, users, or the public; and
- in connection with a proposed or completed reorganization, sale, or transfer of the business, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not permit service providers to use personal information for their own advertising merely because they provide services to us.
6. Cookies and similar technology
The website and embedded checkout may use cookies, browser storage, or similar technology that is necessary to provide, secure, and complete requested functions. FrictionWerks does not currently run independent advertising trackers or marketing analytics on the public website. Stripe may use its own technology as described in its privacy materials.
7. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including delivery of services, billing and accounting records, security, dispute resolution, and compliance with legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information, the engagement, and applicable requirements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to lawful exceptions and backup cycles.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information in light of its nature and the way it is used. No network, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
9. Your choices and privacy requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses. To make a request, email support@frictionwerks.com. We may need to verify your identity or authority and may retain or decline to change information when permitted or required by law.
Service communications and payment notices are not marketing. If we later offer promotional email, any consent and unsubscribe choices presented with it will control those messages.
10. Children
The website and services are intended for organizations and adults acting in a business capacity. They are not directed to children under 13, and FrictionWerks does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or services change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise.
Questions or requests concerning privacy may be sent to support@frictionwerks.com. General inquiries may be sent to hello@frictionwerks.com.
Payment and cancellation terms are described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
